HeartSaver CPR AED and First Aid Courses

Intended Audience

Construction workers, corporate employees, community businesses, security personnel, daycare providers, firefighers, police officers, airline personnel, babysitters, personal trainers, foster parents, family members of individuals at high risk for cardiac arrest, church staff, golf course staff, recreational center employees, country club and hotel staff, teachers and school employees, and other community business employees.

Options for Course Completion:

AHA Online Course with Skills Evaluation:
The American Heart Association also offers a web-based, self-paced, option for completing the cognitive portion and review questions for the Heartsaver First Aid, Heartsaver CPR/AED, and Heartsaver First Aid with CPR/AED courses. Click on the following link: www.onlineaha.org. Upon completion of the online portion, print the course completion certificate, and call to set up a 1 hour (approximate) appointment to complete the skills practice/evaluation. You will receive your AHA course completion card, valid for 2 years, immediately upon successful completion of your skills practice/evaluation.

Heartsaver CPR AED Classroom Based Course:
The AHA Heartsaver CPR AED course is video-based and instructor-led and teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills.

Child and Infant modules are optional

Heartsaver First Aid Classroom Course:
The AHA Heartsaver First Aid course is video-based and instructor-led and teaches students critical skills to respond and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives. Students learn duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers, first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke, and skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, and bites and stings.

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Classroom Course:
The AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course is video-based and instructor-led and teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Classroom Based Course:
The AHA Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course teaches child care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. The course covers the Four Steps of Pediatric First Aid and modules in Pediatric First Aid, Child/Infant CPR AED and Asthma Care Training.
